Interview with the faces of Wood’d for The Florentine

In June 2015 ISI offered an exciting new course in Fashion Journalism. The class focused on writing about style and design in Florence and enrolled students from various ISI partner universities.  Professor Emeritus Mark Bernheim and his blogger assistant Alessandro Masetti worked with the group for 6 weeks on the acquisition of journalism skills, ‘tailoring’ their writing on Italian design.  Most excitingly, the students spent a memorable day at the “Pitti Uomo 88” fashion show in Florence and in this blog they wrote about the thousand clothes viewed and about young designers, stylists, and fashion bloggers met during the show.

The local newspaper “The Florentine” published a selection of the interviews students wrote for the Florence Fashion Week. Here it is a link to the interview with Andrea and Stefano Aschieri, the faces of Wood’d by Elle Springsteel.

Brothers Stefano and Andrea Aschieri are the owners of Wood’d, an Italian lifestyle brand of wooden accessories. Their hallmark products are iPhone cases: the innovative use of wood is a breath of fresh air in the electronic accessory department. Showing their creations at the Pitti Uomo 2015 fashion fair in Florence was a crowning achievement for the siblings, as their company was only founded in January 2012. I had the pleasure of seeing their products in person, and Stefano was happy to answer some questions regarding his and his brother’s work.
